Bloggy Blog Blog

Amy

So it was kind of a crazy day at my day job (pun intended) and I left work without much inspiration for my blog today.  and don’t worry, not every blog will be about the blog itself.  i’m almost over that.  I missed my morning jog this morning (pun intended again) so, I made up for it this evening.  I’m trying to get rid of my beer belly, which I’m going to name “Little Buddha.”  So Little Buddha and I were out on this serene and peaceful night, and bam- my inspiration!  Her name was Amy.  I don’t know why I just used the word “was.”  I’m sure her name is still Amy.  I usually jog wearing a visor (which definitely makes it hard to pick up dudes) and I usually focus on the ground so that I don’t trip (a very common occurrence in the life of Sonal Shah).  I noticed an adorable, elderly lady pushing her trash can with all of her might to the end of her driveway.  Of course, I asked if she needed help.  She said “no.” And I said “you are strong!”  And she said “Haha, well you gotta be!”  We chatted for a bit, and I definitely left the conversation smiling.  I was feeling inspired to be strong.  I often battle with the idea of “becoming strong.”  I often wonder what the point is in becoming strong.  For example, if you go through something s&%tty, everyone says, “this will make you a stronger person” and I think, “So what?!”  The what was made clear today when I met Amy.  She was a strong women who has been through a lot in her life and she just seemed so…happy.  So happy and strong.  I think strength comes from growth and growth comes from challenges in life.  This is not always the case, but you know what I mean.  The whole “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” thought can be applied.  Wow…it just got a little serious in here.  woah.  Are you okay?  Are you still reading?  Am I making any sense at all?  I’m still getting used to this whole blog thing, so bear with me.  Moral of the story of Amy- BE STRONG!!  or something like that.

  1. Yeah, be strong everyone. Not just like Popeye, but, like Ghandi too.

Hey, just noticed the theme you chose is: “Gravel 1.6″

    You’ve been….GRAVELLED!

  2. I think you kind of answered your own question. What’s the point in becoming strong in the face of constant defeat? Hopefully you can one day drag your own multi-colored trash can out to the curb and show some young whippersnapper that you have lived a full life, been kicked when you were down more times than you care to count, and yet you have the will and desire to keep on chugging along in life and show the world that you can’t be beaten and on top of all that, you still are able to smile and brighten other people’s day.

At least, that’s the way I look at it. Who knows, that may be too serious of a post for your blog, so I will go back to struggling to open this snack-sized bag of Cool Ranch Doritos that I’m pretty sure the workers at the factory sealed shut with a gallon of rubber cement and gorilla glue. For the record, that’s Doritos: 1, Me: 0. Not particularly my strongest moment.
